I Remember Liking That Movie

We chose a movie we haven’t seen in decades. I mean, we’re talking 20 to 30 years. First, we examine the box office, the poster, the trailer, and our wildly inaccurate memories of this long-lost relic. Then we watch it again and review it. Sometimes it still slaps. Sometimes it faceplants. Hard.

Send us a textA young Hugh Grant, a Doctor Who, a sexy Amanda Donohoe, some kind of Snake Vampire things, a hidden Mongoose in a kilt, some of the most bizarre visions and dream sequences, and you got a movie. Then throw in two handfuls of plot holes, bad writing, bad acting, and a barely coherent storyline and you got this movie. Join us as we go back to 1988 and watch Ken Russell's The Lair of the White Worm.Do You Remember Liking This Movie?

Send us a textDo you remember the 1997 Rom-Com with a twist and douchey protagonist with multiple toxic relationships? We thought we did but we don't think that we do. In all honesty, one of us is not even excited about watching this film. But that's not going to stop us from watching it and then reviewing it. So join us as we go back to the 90s with Julia Roberts, Cameron Diaz, Dermot Mulroney and Rupert Everett and watch a classic 90s movie where the star is going to try and break up a loving couples marriage. What Fun! Do You Remember Liking This Movie?

Send us a textIn the 1980s a handful of actors ruled the Action Genre. And one of the biggest, if not the biggest of that decade was the star of this movie, Arnold Schwarzenegger. Red Heat is a buddy cop movie with one major twist to the formula. While the unpredictable crazy Big City Cop is pretty standard to the formula, the other buddy in this movie is from Russia. Now that's “Zabavnyy”. James Belushi co-stars, so humor with a hint of "unpredictability" that is totally predictable, is probably guaranteed. Add some over-the-top action, a handful of one-liners galore, and at least a dozen reasons Arnold’s character ends up in situations that cause him to become shirtless, and presto, we got an 80s action flick we couldn't be more excited to watch. So let's go, Comrades!Do You Remember Liking This Movie?

Send us a textDo you remember Invasion of the Body Snatchers from 1978? This is one of many versions but we think this might be the best. Even though 70s movies are grittier and can be known to be very bleak, we still remember this movie being very good. Now it has been a very long time since we've seen this film but It’s directed by Philip Kaufman and stars 70s talent like Donald Southerland, Brooke Adams, Veronica Cartwright, the always eccentric and awesome Jeff Goldblum, and of course Spock from Star Trek. Beam us up.Do You Remember Liking This Movie?

Send us a textCritics hated it. Audiences loved it. We remember liking it but it has been a long time. We know it takes place in a Music Store and stars Renee Zellweger, Liv Tyler, Rory Cochrane, Ethan Embry, and Robin Tunney, with plenty of other 90s favorites. So we are betting (read: HOPING) on Nostalgia to be high in this movie because we're counting on a kick-ass soundtrack and an ass load of 90s fashion we might not want to remember. So bring on 1995 when MTV played music videos, a bag of Doritos with a 2L Mountain Dew was considered a meal, and every teen wanted to work in a Music Store. Bring on Empire Records! Do You Remember Liking This Movie?

Send us a textJoin us as we go all the way back to 1971 and take a look at Disney's Bedknobs and Broomsticks. Oh, the memories, whether they be taking a trip to Portabello Road, or watching a soccer game with cartoon animals. An underwater dance competition or Knights in armor riding into combat.  We remember liking it all but it has been a while. This film has all the trappings of a Classic Disney film that both children & adults would love. Like live-action mixed with animation. Catchy music numbers. Magic and wonderment. Tons of excitement and of course, Witchcraft and Nazis. Wait What...Do You Remember Liking This Movie?

Send us a textRemember Road House from 1989? Of course, you do. Patrick Swayze was the bouncer with a Ph.D. in philosophy and a Masters in Kicking Ass! So join us as we go back to the 80s and watch some hot women, bar brawls & mullets. If we remember correctly, this just might be the most 80s action movie ever! We remember the story being super ridiculous. We remember the action was so over the top. We remember the one-liners were delivered with such cheesy bravado and we remember a lot of 80s hair. My God the 80s hair.  Need we say more? Well, we do because we're also going to watch Road House 2024 starring Jake Gyllenhall, and then compare them. Let the Ass Whoppings commence.Do You Remember Liking This Movie?

Send us a textDo you remember the Beastmaster from 1982? Of course, you do. It was on TBS & HBO every other hour, 7 days a week during the 80s and then one day it was gone, never to be seen again. So join us as we go back to a time when scantly clad women (Tanya Roberts) were kidnapped on the daily by evil cult leaders (Rip Torn) and then heroes (Marc Singer) had to go and rescue them while talking to tigers and eagles because, well he is the Beastmaster. Oh yeah, his best friends were a pair of ferrets. This movie boasts a decent budget that is nowhere to be seen.  A story and plot that did not attend the same meetings. Acting and dialogue that would rival any high school stage production. And a PG rating with boobs a-plenty and an abundance of sword fights with no blood in sight.  We are so excited.Do You Remember Liking This Movie?

Join us as we go back to 1999 and preview all 5 movies Nominated for Best Picture and then watch all 5 Nominated movies before reviewing them and declaring which movie should have won. The Nominations were The Insider, The Cider House Rules, The Sixth Sense, and The Green Mile. American Beauty won best picture in 2000 but we don't believe it should have. Do You Remember Liking This Movie?

Send us a textRemember the Movie Dreamcatcher from 2003? This movie has a stacked cast with Thomas Jane, Jason Lee, Timothy Olyphant, Damian Lewis, Tom Sizemore & Morgan Freeman. A great Director & Screenwriter and it is based on a Stephen King book, what can go wrong? Well, the reviews aren't that great, the Box Office was not that good and that is just the beginning. We were surprised at the lackluster preview and we were even more surprised that we didn't exactly agree on the overall quality of this film. Join us as we go back to 2003 and watch a movie about an Alien invasion, a group of friends, a military quarantine, a supernatural mystery, a possession, an escape, a chase, a lot of gross bowel movements, the meaning of bad acting, bad writing, and bad pacing. This movie has a lot to unpack.Do You Remember Liking This Movie?
