I Remember Liking That Movie

Do you remember Red Sonja from the 80s? Of course you do. Brigitte Nielsen running around in what can only be described as decorative chainmail—armor designed less for battle and more for… audience engagement. And Arnold Schwarzenegger shows up as Conan… except legally he’s absolutely, definitely not Conan. Just a totally different guy who looks, sounds, and acts exactly like Conan.
We remember loving this movie as kids, and shy wouldn’t we? Swords, explosions, questionable acting, and whatever was going on with that script. It was basically Conan 3… just without the budget, the name, or any real reason to exist.
At least that’s how we remember it.

Do you remember The Day After Tomorrow? That’s the one where Mother Nature decides she’s had enough of our BS and lays the Smackdown on the entire planet. Denis Quaid wins the Father of the Year award for hiking across the entire country, which has become a snow-laden tundra, to get to his son. Jake Gyllenhal has to outrun a bunch of cartoon wolves, and the survivors burn books to stay alive instead of wood from chairs and desks. Yeah, that one. We don’t remember this movie being Shakespeare or anything, but we do remember a whole lot of people biting the big one and a lot of destruction. Remember Robin Hood: Men in Tights from 1993? We do… or at least we thought we did. It’s been a long time since we last watched this one, but c’mon, it’s Mel Brooks.
